Missing Maungdaw Twsp man found dead
A missing man from Ranaungpyin village in northern Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, was found dead five days later, according to the village administrator.

A missing man from Ranaungpyin village in northern Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, was found dead five days later, according to the village administrator.
“He went missing on May 15. The missing man was found dead by the villagers on May 20,” said U Thein Naing Win, the administrator of Ranaungpyin village.
The deceased was identified as 65-year-old U Maung Bu Chay. He was found dead at about 9 a.m. in the forest about a mile from neighbouring Wetkyeinmyo village.
U Maung Bu Chay was a traditional medicine practitioner who travelled around the village treating patients, said U Thein Naing Win.
“My father was missing for five days,” said Ko Maung Maung, son of U Maung Bu Chay. “I am also working on construction work in Tarein village. My wife also phoned me to report that my father had been found dead. The herdsmen told us that they’d smelled the corpse and that it looked like a dead body, so I returned to the village and searched for my father’s body.”
His father was found with three wounds to the back of his head and a case has been filed at the Kyeinchaung police station, Ko Maung Maung added.
U Maung Bu Chay’s body was taken to Maungdaw District People’s Hospital and will be buried at Maungdaw Cemetery on Friday.
