Flowers from Japan planted in Kyaukphyu town
Flowers from Japan, Tabebuia and Robel trees, were recently planted along the roads in Kyaukphyu town, Arakan State, according to people involved.

Flowers from Japan, Tabebuia and Robel trees, were recently planted along the roads in Kyaukphyu town, Arakan State, according to people involved.
U Kar Kar, who leads the planting of Japan-grown flowers, said the activity started from the entrance of Kyaukphyu and that some youths and members of charity groups in the town have been working together since September 24.
“I want to beautify our town. I have learnt that the flowers like the summer season, so we started planting them now,” he told DMG.
About 20 flower trees have been planted at the entrance of Kyaukphyu town and they will be planted along the road in the town, said Ma Soe Soe, a member of Phyu Sin Thaw Kan Let Myar charity group in Kyaukphyu, who is participating in the campaign to plant flowering trees.
“People contributed donations to plant the flower trees. They provide K1,500 for a tree. We want to see our town beautiful and to show visitors that the town is clean and beautiful,” she said.
Youths from Apaukwa village in Kyauktaw Township have been planting Tabebuia and other shady trees along the Yangon-Sittwe roadsides since June.
