Tatmadaw lose about 50 soldiers during five rounds of clashes on Tuesday: AA says

Skirmishes broke out in Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U Townships on Tuesday, and the AA’s commandos attacked 13 military trucks on the road east of Thasi village in Kyauktaw Township, about 40 soldiers were killed from the Myanmar Army, the AA announced.

Five rounds of clashes occurred on May 14 and about 50 Tatmadaw soldiers were killed, the Arakan Army (AA) said.

Skirmishes broke out in Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw and Mrauk-U Townships on Tuesday, and the AA’s commandos attacked 13 military trucks on the road east of Thasi village in Kyauktaw Township, about 40 soldiers were killed from the Myanmar Army, the AA announced.

Moreover, a Tatmadaw column was attacked by AA’s commandos on Kyauktaw-Paletwa road at a spot two kilometers north of Mintha Taung village. The fighting lasted over three hours and at least 25 soldiers died from the Myanmar Army, it said.

In the early morning of May 14, a clash occurred between Pauktawpyin and Oatphokan villages in Mrauk-U Township, 18 soldiers from the Myanmar Army will killed. In addition, in the evening on the same day, another clash broke out southeast of Oatphokan village, 4 soldiers from the Myanmar Army were killed.

The AA said at least 50 soldiers died and about 40 others injured during clashes in Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U and Ponnagyun Townships.

However, Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, secretary of the Tatmadaw True News Information Team said that the Tatmadaw lost one soldier and received three bodies of AA members during the clashes on Tuesday.
