Military blocks Myebon-Minbya road following Myebon explosion
The Myanmar military reportedly blockaded the Myebon-Minbya road after a roadside bomb or landmine blew up in front of the office for Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs (NATALA) in Myebon, Arakan State, on Wednesday evening.

The Myanmar military reportedly blockaded the Myebon-Minbya road after a roadside bomb or landmine blew up in front of the office for Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs (NATALA) in Myebon, Arakan State, on Wednesday evening.
Junta soldiers at the NATALA office closed the road after the explosion, a community elder in Myebon told DMG.
“Gunfire was heard at the scene of the blast and residents dare not go outside after the explosion. The military blocked off the Myebon-Minbya road,” he said.
Military personnel are often stationed at the NATALA office, which is located near the scene of the blast.
There were heavy weapons fired after the explosion, according to a resident of Myebon’s Kanthawa ward who did not wish to be named for security reasons.
“Junta soldiers from a military camp in Kanthawa ward indiscriminately fired four artillery shells and fighter jets were flying in the sky. We are fleeing in fear,” the unnamed resident added.
As of press time, DMG was unable to contact officials from the military and AA seeking comment on the explosion.
