Myanmar’s military regime and the Arakan Army (AA) have discussed free delivery of relief supplies to storm victims in Arakan State.

Military personnel questioned some villagers and forced them to leave the villages temporarily on April 30, after four junta soldiers from No. 22 Light Infantry Division went missing.

“Companies would not follow EIA [Environmental Impact Assessment] and SIA [Social Impact Assessment] because the rule of law is weak. It would be best not to permit any [mining] business now,”

After the very severe cyclone, the weather is hot and raining, lightning and thunder are occurring in some states and regions, including Arakan State.

Leaders of the AA, TNLA and MNDAA arrived in Mongla which is controlled by the National Democratic Alliance Army on Tuesday.

The United League of Arakan/ Arakan Army (ULA/AA) said it has received one billion kyats donated by the civilian National Unity Government (NUG) and fellow ethnic armed revolutionary organizations for storm victims.

“There were more mosquitoes after the storm made landfall in Arakan State. There is no rural clinic in the village.

Water in the lake has turned salty, but villagers have no other source of water, and have been forced to use that lake.

The Arakan State military council said that the price of fuel will be thoroughly re-assessed to ensure that the people in Arakan State, which is affected by the recent cyclone, are not taken advantage of.
