A communique issued by the Arakan State COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee indicates that district-level committees formed to combat the deadly virus will arrange home and community-based facility quarantines for people returning to Arakan State from other parts of Myanmar.

Police from the Aungzu Border Guard Force in northern Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, were attacked by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) on April 15, with the militants killing two officers and making off with a pair of guns, according to an official from the Maungdaw District General Administration Department.
