A German national is under quarantine and being monitored for possible coronavirus infection at Thandwe Hospital in Arakan State, according to the state Health Department.

A German national is under quarantine and being monitored for possible coronavirus infection at Thandwe Hospital in Arakan State, according to the state Health Department.
The department’s deputy director, Dr. Soe Win Paing, said the German man checked in to Thandwe Hospital on March 29 because he felt sick and had a runny nose.
“He arrived at Thandwe from Germany eight days ago. He suspected [he might have coronavirus] and arrived at the hospital yesterday. Now we have put him under examination,” Dr. Soe Win Paing said.
The Ministry of Health and Sports reported that Myanmar had confirmed 14 cases of coronavirus as of March 30, and “persons in close contacts with these patients are identified and restricted on their travels,” according to state media. Three French tourists in their 60s are among the 14 cases of the virus, also known as COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health and Sports has urged the public to heed the virus-related health educational information and preventative measures that it is releasing.
