Goldsmiths in Arakan State are struggling as demand for gold jewellery has significantly declined due to gold price hikes since the coup.

Local farmers will be provided with paddy seeds only if they present their difficulties to the junta through their respective ward and village administrators, said U Hla Thein, spokesman for the Arakan State military council.

Two local men from Ramree, Arakan State, who were arrested over land dispute have reportedly been charged under Section 9(1) of the 1955 Government Premises (Eviction) Act at the Ramree Township Court.

Health officials have warned local people in Arakan State to exercise caution in consuming mushrooms after some cases of food poisoning have been reported in the state.

The Arakan Army (AA) has completed its first training course for officers inside Arakan State, the Information Department of the ethnic armed group said on Monday.

“Cases of dengue fever were mainly recorded in Taungup, Kyaukphyu and Sittwe townships,” said Dr. Zaw Zaw Aung, assistant director of the Arakan State DPH.
