A woman was found dead at the creek near Tan Myet Chaung village in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine state, on the morning of April 22, according to a village administrator.

“The mother was struck in her abdomen by a stray bullet while she was worshipping. There was no battle but we heard firing between Sinthaybyin and Uyinthar villages.

Two young men have been questioned by the Tatmadaw regarding a landmine explosion on the evening of April 21 near Kaing Gyi village, south of Maungdaw Township, 

“Our first plan is that we let students to attend basic education high schools near their camps. If there is no school near their camps, we will build temporary classrooms for them. We reported this plan to relevant authorities,”

“They have to drink water from the creek. Because of strong wind and heavy rain in previous days, roofs and walls of the buildings in the camps were destroyed. They are now living in buildings without any fortification.

The number of IDPs who were forced from their homes due to ongoing conflicts between the Myanmar Army and the AA has now reached 34, 589, according to the Rakhine Ethnic Congress.

“We will supply water to villages facing a water crisis as soon as possible. We are also preparing for water facilities next year. We will get water from anywhere and supply them by car, boat or by any other means of transportation,”

The Tatmadaw and AA exchanged accusations about the discovery of four remote controlled landmines on Ahngumaw- Maungdaw road on April 18.

Villagers from Nwayonetaung village in Buthidaung Township, who fled from their homes when the Tatmadaw launched artillery fire near their village since April 19 morning,

 “They mainly need rice and other essential food. But, refugees from the IDP sites in rural areas need firewood also. The second priority is health care and adequate toilet facilities,”

“We came here around 4 p.m yesterday. We were afraid of the barrage of artillery fire. We ran to any direction could we see. We met one another at Zedidaung village.”
