Four civilians including a child were injured in a Myanmar regime air assault on Aungmingalar Village, part of Arakan State's Maungdaw Township, at around 2 p.m. on October 16.
Ma Nyein Sandar, 10, Soe Min Naing, 21, Nay Ko Hein, 22, and another person sustained injuries.
"A junta jet fighter dropped six bombs on a crowded place. The injured are receiving medical treatment," said a local woman.
The junta plane's bombs hit a monastery and a local bazaar in the village, destroying some religious buildings and homes.
A junta jet fighter on October 14 also dropped bombs on two villages in Maungdaw Township, destroying multiple homes.
The regime over recent days has stepped up air attacks on Arakkha Army (AA) positions near Border Guard Police Battalion No. 5, the last standing junta battalion in besieged Maungdaw, according to locals.
"The regime often carries out airstrikes in Maungdaw. The regime attacks civilian areas without any fighting in the area," said one local man.
The AA has stepped up attacks on the military's Border Guard Police Battalion No. 5, with the regime responding to the ethnic armed group's attack with artillery and aerial support.
Civilian casualties continue to rise across much of conflict-torn Arakan State due to the regime's artillery attacks and aerial targeting of residential areas.
At least 34 civilians in Arakan State have been killed and 61 others were injured in junta air raids since October 1, according to a DMG tally.
