Four civilians in a rural village of Arakan State’s Minbya Township were injured and a home in another village was damaged by an artillery shell reportedly fired by the Myanmar military on the morning of September 27. 

Three people including two children were injured when a monastery was hit by a junta rocket in Arakan State’s Minbya Township on Monday.

Dr. Kyaw Thura, a resident of Taungup who was detained by the Myanmar military, was charged under Section 17(1) of the Unlawful Associations Act on September 23, according to family members.

Six residents of Thabeik Taung Village in Arakan State’s Buthidaung Township were detained by Myanmar military personnel on September 24, and family members are concerned about the fate of the detainees, who have since been held incommunicado.

The Myanmar military reportedly arrested two residents of Asoeya Ward in Arakan State’s Kyaukphyu town on September 25.

A 7-year-old boy from Nagara Village in Arakan State’s Kyauktaw Township was killed in a shelling at around 11 p.m. on Saturday. 

Some homes were damaged after an artillery shell landed and exploded near Myoma Market in Ale Zay Ward in Arakan State’s Minbya at about 1 p.m. on September 25, according to locals.

The Myanmar military reportedly detained Ko Than Tun, chairman of Nang Yeik Garuna Oxygen Association and his elder brother Ko Kyaw Than Naing from Arakan State’s Mrauk-U town at around 9 a.m. on September 25.

Dozens of undocumented Muslims were reportedly arrested at a security checkpoint in Mon State’s Bilin Township on September 22.

Some houses of Thabeik Taung Village in Arakan State’s Buthidaung Township were torched at around 9 p.m. on Friday, after villagers fled their homes following shelling from a local border guard police battalion.

Myanmar recorded 10 coronavirus-related deaths from September 1 to 23, according to the junta-controlled Ministry of Health.

The Myanmar military detained two residents from Na Ram Village in Minbya Township, and are reportedly hunting for another village who is now in hiding. 

Ko Myo Myint Zaw, the manager of a shop who was arrested on suspicion of being the culprit in the murder of a young woman in Sittwe, was reportedly charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code at a United League of Arakan court on September 22. 

A guesthouse and three homes in Arakan State’s Kyauktaw were damaged by an artillery shell at around 2 a.m. on Saturday, according to locals.

Two local men were taken from their homes in Taungup Township, Arakan State, by the Myanmar military at about 4 p.m. on September 23, according to family members of the detainees.

Deputy commander-in-chief of the Arakan Army (AA) Dr. Nyo Twan Awng on his website wrote that the time was now for a decisive and final battle, a statement widely viewed as a battle cry against Myanmar’s military regime.

The environmental and social impact assessment for the US$1.3 billion Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project is scheduled to be completed in July of next year, according to Myanmar Survey Research (MSR), which is conducting the assessment.
