The Three Brotherhood Alliance on January 1 announced the extension of a unilateral ceasefire through February to facilitate practical steps in the peace process with Myanmar’s military and government, and as a gesture toward building mutual understanding among stakeholders.

A total of 203 traffic accidents were reported in Arakan State between January and November 2020, killing 111 people and injuring 251, according to the state’s traffic police office.

A total of 20 child rape cases were reported in Arakan State from January to December 26, four times the number of cases last year, according to figures from the Legal Clinic Myanmar (LCM).
