The most important thing to be tackled currently in Arakan State is military are the armed confrontations between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA) and the consequences of this issue  while the region has been facing complicated situations with military, politics and Muslim affairs. 

A ceasefire can be reached through political dialogues, but armed struggles will continue if there is no guarantee for self-determination and equality. If the government cannot resolve such conditions, the hotel and tourism industry in the region will cease to exist, said U Khin Maung Gyi, a business person in Arakan State.

The Myanmar government cut off mobile data service in Arakan State’s eight townships without letting local residents know in advance. So, people from affected areas have no access to receive and distribute information.

"I was shocked when I saw my daughter lying with injuries. I was nervous and wasn't able to think of anything so I piggybacked my daughter and ran to the jetty where we can get a motor boat.

“People from IDP camps and villages are now facing the risk of landmines detonating. They are now afraid of going to places where they go every day,” he said.

“We don’t want fighting to take place in Mrauk-U’s historical zone. It is an ethic everyone from civilized societies must follow and respect. That’s why we have called for a cease fire to save Mrauk-U,”

 Rakhine State’s myriad problems between the government’s military force the “Tatmadaw” and the ethnic armed group the “Arakan Army” have been escalating since early December in 2018.

“They might have made some remarks that pleased Arakan people. But there’s no need for other people to take such extreme offence for such remarks. And, freedom of expression should be granted, especially to politicians and public servants.
