Junta airstrike hits Anjanapura Twsp village, forcing residents to flee

A junta fighter jet bombed a mountain range near Thitpotetaung Village in Anjanapura Township, an area under Arakan Army control in Arakan State, on the afternoon of September 21, according to local sources.

At around 12:40 p.m. today, a junta fighter jet dropped two bombs on the hills east of Thitpotetaung Village.

"A fighter jet hovered overhead for a long time and dropped two bombs on the hills east of the village," a local woman from Thitpotetaung Village said. "Bomb shrapnel landed inside the village, leaving residents terrified."

Because shrapnel struck parts of the village, several Thitpotetaung Village residents have fled to safer locations.

Around 1:00 p.m. today, another fighter jet circled over Myebon Town, causing widespread panic among town residents.

Earlier today, at around 1:00 a.m., junta airstrikes targeted Taungphu Village in Werathani Township, killing a local woman.

Later in the morning, at around 11:30 a.m., junta aircraft bombed Satthwar Village in Gwa Township, injuring two civilians, including a young child.

"After suffering setbacks and retreating during heavy fighting in Sittwe this month, the military regime has launched daily airstrikes without pause," a local resident said. "As a result, civilians across Arakan State are living in deep fear and anxiety."

Facing ground defeats, the military regime has conducted daily airstrikes targeting residential quarters and villages across Ponnagyun, Mrauk-U, Kyauktaw, Rathedaung, Werathani, Anjanapura, Thandwe, and Kyaukphyu townships.

Meanwhile, intense clashes continue between junta forces and the Arakan Army along the border between Sittwe and Ponnagyun townships.

The Arakan Army stated that military junta troops suffered heavy casualties, with numerous weapons, ammunition, and prisoners of war captured.
