Three siblings were killed and two other people were injured in a junta air assault on Thelkanhtaung Village, part of Arakan State’s Ann Township, on Thursday.
A junta jet fighter dropped several bombs on Thelkanhtaung Village at around 11 a.m. on June 20, killing the three siblings — Maung Nay Moe Htet, 4, Ma May Zin Aye, 17, and Ko Than Win Naing, 25 — and wounding U Maung Pu, 45, and Daw Ma Yin Aye, 68.
“Three siblings were killed on the spot. Two people sustained injuries and their conditions are considered life-threatening,” said a resident of Ann.
The junta jet fighter also attacked Kazukaing and Hsin Oo Taik villages, destroying a Buddhist monastery in Hsin Oo Taik Village.
A junta jet fighter also dropped multiple bombs on Tokechaung Village in Arakan State’s Myebon Township on June 19, killing two locals and injuring five others.
Regime airstrikes in recent days have targeted civilian areas in Maungdaw, Taungup, Thandwe, Ann, Pauktaw and Kyauktaw townships.
The Arakkha Army (AA), which has thus far seized nine townships in Arakan State, Paletwa Township in neighbouring Chin State, and scores of military camps elsewhere in Arakan State, is currently attacking junta positions in Maungdaw, Ann, Taungup and Thandwe townships.
