Arakan State-based political parties are calling on the government to restore full internet access during the election campaign period as the early days of canvassing have been marked by technological and public health-related hurdles. 

Two more men have been arrested in connection with the death of a police constable in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, who went missing along with a colleague on September 5.

Cargo trucks plying routes from the Arakan State capital Sittwe to lowland areas will have to temporarily halt operations as of September 9 due to COVID-19, according to highway express drivers. 

A murder case has been opened against the owner of a shrimp pond in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, after a police officer was found dead near its waters on September 7.
