Three civilians were injured after a military regime jet fighter bombed Aungphyupyin Village, a shelter site for internally displaced persons in Ponnagyun Township, Arakan State, around 1:00 a.m. on October 2.

Bombs exploded near a motorbike repair workshop along the Kyauktaw-Ponnagyun Road, injuring two displaced civilians and one local resident and damaging nearby residential homes, according to local residents.

"The bombing hit the entrance of Aungphyupyin Village near a motorbike workshop," a Ponnagyun resident said. "The shop owner's wife suffered a broken arm, and two young men nearby were severely injured. Fortunately, no deaths were reported."

The injured victims were identified as 30-year-old Daw Khin Wai Soe, 18-year-old Maung Kyaw Moe Lwin, and 17-year-old Ko Aung Min.

Daw Khin Wai Soe, an IDP from Ponnagyun Town, sustained a severe fracture and other injuries to her right arm.

Maung Kyaw Moe Lwin, an IDP from Kyawzan Village, sustained shrapnel wounds to both thighs, while Ko Aung Min, a local resident of Aungphyupyin Village, suffered injuries to his right knee and abdomen, according to a local humanitarian aid worker.

"Junta jet fighters circled all night and dropped bombs on Aungphyupyin Village, keeping everyone awake," a nearby resident said. "IDPs in this area face grave danger, and some are temporarily fleeing to safer locations."

Earlier on October 1, at around 1:00 p.m., military aircraft also bombed a local monastery near Thakyarset Village in Kyauktaw Township.

Throughout October 1, the military regime carried out repeated aerial attacks across Kyauktaw, Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Thandwe, Werathani, and Kyaukphyu townships.

The 24-hour bombardment across the six townships resulted in one civilian death and more than 10 injuries.

On September 28, a junta bombing targeting India Market and the Kissapanadi Bridge in Kyauktaw Town killed 50 civilians and injured 57 others.
