A police corporal from Kyauktaw town and a veteran from Buthidaung town were stabbed to death on this Sunday’s morning.
Police corporal Maung Hla, 48, was stabbed by unidentified people in front of his house in Pyidawtha ward, Kyauktaw town, said an anonymous local resident.
“He was assigned as an official of the port here. He received three stabbed wounds. I don’t know the assailant,” the local resident said.
The police corporal was injured in his back and temple and died during an operation in Kyauktaw hospital, according to local sources.
The DMG phoned Arakan State chief police Colonel Kyi Linn and Kyauktaw police station, but they could not be reached.
Meanwhile, a veteran living in Buthidaung town’s No.6 ward was stabbed to death this morning too, said a police officer from Buthidaung police station.
U Thein Tun, 60, was stabbed by two young people in front of Byuha hill, near Aye Zedi monastery, said a local who asked not to be named.
“He left home at about 6 a.m. to buy medicine, but was stabbed at the lane in front of his house. He received two stab wounds,” the local source said.
Police Captain Thant Zin Tun from Buthidaung police station said that they are seeking to find the truth concerning the death of the veteran.
During the ongoing fighting between the Tatmadaw and the AA in Arakan State, policemen, veterans and civilians have been murdered very often.
