The activist group Blood Money has launched an online petition campaign against the supply of aviation fuel to Myanmar's military regime, which has been waging a campaign of indiscriminate aerial attacks against civilians.

Myanmar's military regime attacked the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 7 headquarters in Kayin (Karen) State's Hpa-an Township with a drone on Tuesday, according to sources on the ground. 

Internally displaced people (IDPs) are moving from one location to another without a stable place to take refuge due to daily airstrikes and artillery attacks by the Myanmar military in Maungdaw Township.

Two elderly men and a teenage boy were killed and five others were injured in a artillery on Laungsat Village, part of Arakan State's Ann Township, on Monday afternoon.

A member of the Student Armed Force (SAF), which is fighting alongside the Arakkha Army (AA) in Arakan State's Ann Township, has died on the battlefield, according to the anti-regime group.

"A junta jet fighter dropped a 500-lb bomb on the village at around 2 a.m. on Monday, killing five locals on the spot. Among the injured are some internally displaced people (IDPs) from Maungdaw," said a source in Maungdaw.

The fighting broke out in Gwa Township in early August and hostilities have since spread to Thabyuchaung, Kywechaing and Taingkyo villages some 10 miles from Gwa Town, forcing residents to flee.

"The regime no longer selects new recruits through a lottery system like before, but forcibly recruits young people along with administration officials, police and immigration authorities," the report added.

In August, there were at least 708 fighting incidents across 125 townships nationwide, and 520 fighting incidents in 116 townships in September, a decrease of 26.55 percent, the report said.

Farmers are also facing business challenges due to rising prices for fertilisers, and labour shortages, both of which are necessary for winter cropping to operate efficiently.

Myanmar's military regime has announced that its Navy is conducting a five-day maritime security exercise in the waters of the northern Andaman Sea, off the coast of southeastern Myanmar, from October 20 to October 24.

"A junta jet fighter carried out airstrikes on the villages three times without any fighting in the area. The junta jet fighter dropped four bombs on the village, wounding two women," the Taungup resident said.

Tobacco farmers say the high prices of local and foreign cigarettes and cheroots have led to an increase in demand for locally produced tobacco.

"Mortar shells fired by Myanmar Navy vessels in the Naf River fell in the village when locals were sleeping. The injured are internally displaced people (IDPs). The regime intentionally fired mortar shells to instill fear among the locals," said an IDP in Maungdaw.

Prior to the latest fighting in Arakan State, clay pots only fetched around K15,000 per pot, but prices have soared to about K35,000 per pot, local potters said.

The refugees were injured by bullets during an exchange of fire between ARSA and RSO militants at the Ukhiya refugee camp on October 17.

The Arakkha Army (AA) has stepped up attacks on the Myanmar military's Border Guard Police Battalion No. 5 in Maungdaw over recent days, with the regime responding to the ethnic armed group's assault using artillery and aerial support.

A total of 226 women and girls were killed at the hands of Myanmar's military regime across the country, including Arakan State, from January 1 to October 16, the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) said in a report on Wednesday.

Bamboo stockpiles are stuck in the hands of bamboo merchants as bamboo in Arakan State is not able to be sold freely to mainland Myanmar under the current security environment, which includes restrictions imposed by the regime on the movement of most goods.
