The ongoing fighting between the Tatmadaw and the AA in Arakan State has been affecting local people and IDPs from conflict ridden areas demand a ceasefire in their region.

The draft proposal for designation of Mrauk-U Region as World Heritage site has been submitted to the UNESCO World Heritage Center on 24 September.

Members of the Border Guard Force have arrested a Muslim suspect near Kuntheepin Village, Nantthataung Village-tract in the northern part of Maungdaw Township, Arakan State.

A lawmaker from Arakan State parliament on Monday submitted a proposal saying that the regional government shouldn’t allow hostilities to occur around ancient buildings, religious buildings, residential areas and public areas.

With civilians killed or injured during the fighting in Arakan State, a proposal urging the regional government to establish a committee to investigate civilian deaths was passed on Monday.

Three people from a village in Mrauk-U Township were arrested by a Tatmadaw troop on 20 September when they were traveling to a homage paying ceremony for teachers in another village, local sources said.
