The fighting between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army has been occurring fiercely for about nine months in Arakan State, it is not included in the ceasefire declaration.

Parliamentarians and lawyers say the rights of families with members who died in Tatmadaw custody in Arakan State have been violated because they were not given the chance to retrieve the bodies of their relatives.

A Mrauk-U court on August 27 granted bail to Soe Moe Kyaw from Pyine Cha village in Mrauk-U township because he is under 18, nearly five months after he was detained on a Counter-terrorism Law charge.
