The Arakkha Army (AA) has escalated its onslaught of junta bases in Ann Township, which hosts the Myanmar military's Western Command, with the regime defending the town using air and artillery support.

Tuesday marked one year since reporter Ko Htet Aung and office staff Ko Soe Win Aung of Development Media Group (DMG) were arrested by Myanmar's military regime in Sittwe, the capital of Arakan State.

The report states that women are losing their lives as a result of military's airstrikes, shelling, massacres, arbitrary arrests, and sexual violence including rape and gang rape.

Local people have accused the military of planting the landmine as junta soldiers were once stationed in the forest.
