Due to fuel shortages, Arakanese farmers are needing to leave their combine harvesters idle and harvest paddy by swinging the sickle. Arakanese farmers are also facing a labour shortage as they scramble to harvest and store the already overripe rice.

Local people in Arakan State are facing shortages of food, medicine and fuel as it has been nearly one month since the regime blockaded land and water routes on November 13.
